Children Interiors S/S 2023
Chefchaouen Daydream
Chefchaouen is known as the “Blue Pearl of Morocco” due to its richly blue-painted architecture. With the blue city being isolated between mountains, it feels like a world of its own. Therefore, this collection presents pieces that are colorful, playful, and possess a childlike whimsy. Inspiration was mainly taken from the uneven textures and bright accent colors seen in Chefchaouen pottery and mosaics, which glimmered against matte shades of blue.
Woven fabrics in the children’s interiors market are designed for play and rest. The colors in this collection spark creativity and youthfulness, and have a hand that is comfortable and breathable. Natural fibers such as cotton, linen, or wool were used for their hypoallergenic properties and ease of cleaning. The fabrics are also tightly woven at a higher density to improve their durability and reduce pilling. Lastly, the motifs were created at a smaller scale with a layout that is playful or acts as a conversational design.
